About BrickCalculator.info

BrickCalculator.info is a set of free, fast calculators for masonry and paving projects. It answers the questions you need to settle before you order materials: how many bricks or blocks, how much mortar, cement and sand, how much gravel, and roughly what it will cost.

Who it's for

Homeowners planning a garden wall or patio, DIYers checking a supplier's quote, and builders who want a quick take-off on site. Every calculator works in feet and inches or in metric, and includes brick and block sizes from the US, UK, South Africa, Australia, Europe and India.

How the calculators work

Each calculator uses standard estimating methods — the face area of each unit plus its mortar joint, the joint volume for mortar, a 1.33 dry-volume factor for mortar materials, and typical densities for cement, sand and gravel. The formulas are explained on each page, with worked examples, so you can check the math yourself.

Results are estimates. Real projects have cuts, corners, piers and site conditions that no calculator can see, so always confirm quantities with your supplier, bricklayer or engineer before buying. For structural work — load-bearing walls, tall retaining walls and foundations — follow your local building code and get professional advice.

Privacy by design

All calculations run in your browser. We don't ask you to sign up and we don't store your measurements. The "Copy link" button puts your inputs in the page address so you can share or bookmark them — nothing is saved on our side.
